Portfolios assigned to new ministers, advisors

The portfolios of the newly introduced cabinet were announced on Friday with Hanif Abbasi appointed federal minister of railings, while Mustafa Kamal leads the Ministry of Health.

According to the announcement of the cabinet department, Khawaja Asif will continue to act as Minister of Defense, while Azam Nazir Tarar has been awarded the Ministry of Law, Rights and Human Rights.

Abdul Aleem Khan will oversee the Ministry of Communication, and Musadik Malik has been appointed climate change.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui will oversee the Ministry of Education, while Chaudhry Salik has got the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis. Rana Tanveer will now only handle the Ministry of National Food Safety, and Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh has been appointed to lead the investment board.

Other agreements include Tariq Fazal Chaudhry as Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Pervaiz Malik as Minister of Petroleum and Khalid Hussain Magsi as Minister of Science and Technology.

In addition, Muhammad Munir Wattoo has been awarded the Ministry of Water Resources, Aurangzeb Khichi Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, Muhammad Junaid Anwar Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Raza Hayat Hiraj Ministry of Defense Production.

Sardar Yousaf will oversee the Ministry of Religious Affairs, while Shaza Fatima has been appointed Minister of Information Technology. Rana Mubashir Iqbal administers public affairs.

Earlier on February 27, President Asif Ali Zardari administered to 12 federal ministers, 9 prime ministers and 3 advisers. The ceremony participated in Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Senate President Yousuf Raza Gilani and other dignitaries.
