Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that there is an effort to further reduce electricity prices and prioritize relief in gasoline, despite a continued fall in global oil prices, Express News reported.

When he spoke at a high -level meeting in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz said the government is aiming to provide nationwide benefits through cheaper electricity and is obliged to deliver additional cuts in the coming months.

“Efforts are underway to further reduce electricity prices. When oil prices fall on the global market, we will again focus on reducing electricity stars rather than gasoline,” he said. The Prime Minister emphasized that a reduction in pr. Unit’s electricity costs would have a positive impact on all sectors of the economy.

“A cut in electricity prices will benefit the nation in all areas. We strive for further reductions and hope to see even better results in the coming months,” he added.

PM Shehbaz also said that several initiatives have been introduced to lift the maritime sector, which he described as the key to national economic development. “The established government introduced the number of reforms for lifting the maritime sector,” he said, according to an official statement.

He praised the maritime task force for his role in drafting political recommendations, calling their efforts “hard work” and emphasizing that access to maritime resources is important for global development.

On the wider economic front, the prime minister said his administration is sincerely working to transfer the benefits of falling global oil prices to the Pakistani public.

He noted that a recent decline in electricity prices would give “considerable relief to the people” and help increase economic activity.

“We have achieved macroeconomic stability, and the decline in the power rifles will lead the economy towards growth and competitiveness,” he added.
