Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Najmi Alam has called on the Sindh government and Karachi South administration to close tea hotels in the defense and clifton areas of Karachi at midnight.

In a letter addressed to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and the Deputy Commissioner of South Karachi, Alam emphasized the concern that tea hotels have become safe ports for criminal elements, Express News reported.

He also raised alarms over reports of drug trafficking activities at Tea Hotels in Clifton Block 2, where such activities allegedly take place all night.

Alam also pointed out that the loud music played in these hotels has become a significant disruption for local residents, which contributed to the growing public turmoil.

The PPP leader has formally requested that the Deputy Commissioner set regulated closure times for these companies with the aim of improving public security and limiting criminal activity in these areas.

Copies of the letter have also been sent to the Sindh Chief Minister and Karachi Commissioner for further action.
