KARACHI:
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Sherry Rehman’s daughter, Marvi Malik, died at the age of 35 following a brain haemorrhage on Sunday, the family announced.
She had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi, where she was admitted five days ago. Her condition worsened three days before her death and required ventilation.
Her funeral service is scheduled for Monday at 3.30 pm at DHA Phase 8, Karachi, followed by burial at a local cemetery.
President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his condolences and asked for her forgiveness and for the family to bear the loss with strength.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the death of a child is an “indescribable grief”, offering heartfelt condolences and praying for her high status in the afterlife and patience for the bereaved family.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also conveyed grief and asked for her forgiveness and high rank in the afterlife. Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon described the sudden death as devastating and extended condolences to the family and asked for their patience and resilience.
PPP leader Shazia Marri said the news left her “deeply saddened and in shock,” calling the loss “irreparable.” She expressed sympathy for the family and prayed for Marvi Malik’s elevation in the hereafter and strength for her relatives to bear the grief.
Mayor of Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, described the news as “extremely sad” and offered his condolences to Sherry Rehman and her family. He asked for Marvi Malik’s forgiveness and elevated status in the afterlife and for patience for the bereaved family.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed deep grief over the loss, calling it “unbearable” and prayed for Marvi Malik’s eternal peace.
