Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) does not remain convinced that his meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) at Governor House on Saturday (today) will give any meaningful result, revealed a senior party leader.
The meeting, held to tackle PPP’s concern about being denied the political space in Punjab, is unlikely to give any significant results, the party’s insider claimed.
“It is in PML-N’s genes to treat his benefactors with the greatest contempt,” he regrets, and expressed deeply rooted skepticism in PPP rows of any concrete progress.
He also said that the real battlefield for PPP at this time is not Punjab, but the disputed channel question that President Asif Ali Zardari has already raised serious concerns in a common parliamentary session.
He said PPP was aware that it was up to the powerful forces, but added that the party considered this a struggle for its political survival and was prepared to go all the way.
The PPP delegation for the meeting will be led by former Prime Minister and central Punjab president Raja Perez Ashraf and was expected to include Ali Haider Gillani, Nadeem Afzal Chan and Punjab -Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, said the manager.
Before the meeting, PPP holds an internal discussion at. 13:30, followed by an informal hug to end his voice points before engaging with PML-N at. 16.00.
According to PPP Insider, the party will present its bottom line expores in the hope of securing some form of concession for use as a face -saving measure.
“Even if PML-N eventually renames his obligations in Punjab, it doesn’t cost PPP anything. In fact, it will only strengthen our argument that we traded with altruistic intentions,” he claimed.
A spokesman for PPP confirmed the meeting but stated that the party had not been informed of the composition of the PML-N delegation. Meanwhile, PML-N could not be reached for comment.
It is relevant to note that the upcoming meeting is following an earlier attempt to place PPP’s concerns that began with a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Islamabad.
