Lahore:
PPP candidates remain uncertain about the exact mechanics of the seat adjustment event recently agreed with PML-N, the Punjab chapter of the party has revealed.
On August 23, PPP Central Punjab President and former Prime Minister Raja Perez Ashraf, PPP Secretary Secretary and former Senate President Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, together with PML-N leaders, as federal minister of railway Hanif Abbasi and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs The seat adjustment form, first employed during their opposition days.
Under the formula, “runners-up” in an constituency would have the right to field candidates.
However, PPP, which is based on its own interpretation, has also included places where no official PML-N candidate stood between his candidate and the winner, regardless of his own performance in these constituencies.
According to PPP’s central Punjab chapter, the party had seen NA-143 Sahiwal, NA-175 Muzaffargarh and NA-185 Dera Ghazi Khan. He explained that no matter where a PPP candidate secured more votes than a Bona Fide PML-N candidate, the party’s candidates should keep the right to field their candidate in the upcoming polls, regardless of voting.
It is worth noting that the PML-N candidate in NA-185, DG Khan, ran as an independent and secured second place, while PPP’s Dost Muhammad Khosa came in third. In Sahiwal, the seat was abandoned open to Istehkam-E-Pakistan (IPP), with his candidate, Nouman Ahmad Langrial, who finished in third place. The PML-N supported independent candidate placed number two and PPP landed in fifth place.
Several PPP leaders, while talking to the Express Pakinomist, admitted that they were uncertain whether they would get places other than Muzaffargarh, which in itself wasn’t even up to seize.
A leader said real campaign would only begin when the party was insured on seats worth contesting. “Apart from Dost Muhammad Khosa in DG Khan, no one else would once consider making a half -hearted campaign,” he said.
In a speech with Express Pakinomist, PPP confirmed General Nayyar Hussain Bukhari that the formula was in principle agreed “. On request to clarify what it entailed, he said,” Runners -Up will field their candidate. “
When it was pressed on whether this meant that seats where PPP came on the third or fourth would be excluded-despite Punjab PPP’s interpretation that where no PML-N candidate was not between the winning candidate and ours, we should have the right to be entitled to be right to be entitled to be right to be entitled to right.
When asked about PML-N’s rejection of this interpretation, Bukhari said, “We are partners and will discuss at the Punjab level meeting”. As for the time of this meeting, he added that he was not aware of any exact date, but said the meeting would soon take place.
When asked why the party had opted out of direct competition in Punjab, especially as many in the party believed that PTI’s absence offered a golden opportunity to win lost land, he said competition against coalition partners was inconceivable.
“How can we possibly contest choices against our allies?” Said the senior leader. “It was best intended to keep the coalition’s spirit alive and return to the running formula that was agreed in opposition days.”
When he reminded that PPP and PML-N previously had field separate candidates in Sialkot PP-52, he replied that they should be learned from their mistakes. He also warned against writing off PTI completely and added that PTI cannot be considered out of the race yet, as it can enter the ring as independent.
