Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh Chapter has announced the suspension of all political activities in the province so far. The decision has been made in view of the deteriorating flood situation in Sindh.
The message was made by PPP Sindh President Nisar Khuhro, who declared that political commitments would remain on wait until the water level in the rivers is normalized. He emphasized that the party’s immediate priority is to support flood -affected communities, especially in Katcha (River) areas.
“PPP leaders must come forward to support flood victims in every way possible,” Khuhro said, calling on party leaders and workers to create emergency camps and ensure that help reaches displaced and vulnerable families.

He repeated PPP’s long -standing commitment to standing by the people in trouble and added that the party would continue to play an active role in relief and rehabilitation efforts.
Khuhro also assured that the Sindh government is in high attention and closely monitors the situation. He expressed hope that the incoming flood water would pass without causing compensation.
Earlier in the day, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah called on the federal government to immediately seek international assistance from the United Nations to support flooding operations.
While inspecting the Guddu and Succur barriers to assess the water level in the Indus River, Shah confirmed the provincial government’s obligation to protect life and property.
He expressed optimism that the flooding water would pass through the SUKKUR barrage without causing greater destruction, adding that ministers and officials are actively deployed from Kashmore to Keti Bandar.

The main minister also repeated PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s previous call to the immediate payment of relief funds through Benazir Income Support Program (Bisp), a process he noted remains pending.
“The federal government must act quickly on the appeal of international assistance and accelerate the release of funds for relief efforts,” CM emphasized.
