PPP’s Caira calls on political reconciliation

Lahore:

In the midst of a festive national mood after Pakistan’s military success against India at the borders, senior PPP leader Qamar Zaman Caira without naming PTI said it was high time to bridge the political gap.

He advised Khan’s party to fix and called on the government to adopt a forgiveness policy.

At the same press conference, PPP Central Punjab General Secretary Syed Hasan Murtaza, who took a weld on Punjab Minister of Information Azma Bukhari to credit Nawaz Sharif with war planning, “at least one should be within some limits”. He said that repeated lies, if not publicly exposed, begin to sound like the truth.

Murtaza claimed that the real credit for making Pakistan’s defense invincible belonging to the PPP management.

“If there is any party who had a role in strengthening Pakistan’s defense – from signing Mou to JF -17 to building heavy industries, from weapons to tanks, flights to missiles – it’s PPP,” he said.

He credited both deceased Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and deceased Benazir Bhutto and claimed that Bhutto launched Pakistan’s nuclear program, a decision that ultimately cost him his life. “Anyone can blow up a bomb and take credit for it.”

Murtaza claimed that other parties could at best take credit just to continue the defense programs initiated by PPP governments. “Others should try to take on their performance by sending photos,” he added. He also took a jibe in Rana Sanaullah to “false claim that the war was past May 7”.
