Pre-Monsoon Rain is expected from June 20

Islamabad:

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has expected pre-Monsun rain across different regions in the country from June 20 to June 23 with occasional holes that bring relief from the ongoing hete wave.

The expected wet spell brings dust storms, rain winds and thunderstorms, while isolated areas can also experience heavy rain and hailstorms.

According to Met Office, moist streams from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea were into the upper and central parts of the country.

A Western wave was also likely to approach the top regions on June 20, which will contribute to the development of unstable weather conditions during this period.

There is a risk of flooding of cities in low -lying areas of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Islamabad during heavy rain. Farmers are advised to manage their crop activities in accordance with the forecast.

General public, travelers and tourists are encouraged to take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary trips to vulnerable or flood -fought areas.

PMD has advised all affected authorities to remain vigilant and take necessary measures to prevent any inappropriate situation.
