Precipitation predicted to second consecutive day in KP, Punjab and Kashmir

Thunderstorms accompanied by Gusty Vind and precipitation are expected on Friday in various regions of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, according to Pakistan’s meteorological department.

The department said that strong wind and heavy rain can hit isolated areas of Islamabad, the Potohar region, the northeast and central Punjab as well as Gilgit-Baltistan.

Hills and rainfall are also probably in a few places, warned forecasters.

In Upper Sindh and Northeast Balochistan, rain is expected with thunder and dust storms in the evening and night.

In Lahore, wind throw, which reached up to 100 km/h, was followed by showers that led to more than 565 power -making men who stumbled, according to the authorities of the power distribution.

In Faisalabad, 150 feeds were affected by the precipitation, while Islamabad saw considerable disturbance, although officials reported that over 80% of power had since been restored.

Rain also affected several areas including Gujranwala, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Kamoke, Hafizabad, Sialkot and Wazirabad. Shows were also reported in Chakwal, Jhelum and Bahawalnagar.

In Mianwali, intense rain and hailstorm were recorded. In Sargodha, a house wall collapsed due to the storm, killed one person and injured four children.

Authorities continue the restoration work in the affected areas.
