President Asif Ali Zardari tests positively for Covid-19

President Asif Ali Zardari has tested positively for Covid-19, according to a statement from the presidential house on Wednesday.

The statement confirmed that President Zardari’s personal doctor, Dr. Asim Hussain, conducted a series of tests confirming the diagnosis. Dr. Hussain added that President Zardari has been asked to remain isolated.

“The medical team ensures that observation around the clock to control its condition effectively,” Zardari’s doctor was quoted as saying. Zardari had been moved from Nawabshah to a private hospital in Karachi after reporting health issues.

In addition, President Asif Ali Zardari does not participate in the rally scheduled for April 4, according to sources. The sources also revealed that the president has been asked to take continuous rest due to health reasons

In a separate statement today, Sindh senior minister Sharjeel Memon rejected reports claiming the president was flown to Dubai for treatment. Memon said the president’s health improved and that he would soon recover completely.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also spoke with Zardari by phone, asked about his health and expanded prayers for his improvement. Sindh -Governor Kamran Tessori also contacted Dr. Hussain and expressed concern and gave best wishes to the president’s health.
