Islamabad: On the 60th Defense and Martyrs’ Day, Pakistan’s civil and military leadership paid tribute to rich tribute to the country’s martyrs, Ghazis and the elastic citizens whose courage and victims continue to protect nation’s freedom and sovereignty.

The day that coincided with the blessed occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) began with a 31-canon’s honor in the federal capital.

Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, President Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of naval staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babes Sidhu led the shelf to the country.

In his message, Public Relations (ISPR) said between Services (ISPR) on September 6, marking the unreasonable decision and the unwavering spirit of the Pakistani nation.

“On this historic day, our brave soldiers stood with the support of the nation as an invincible wall against obvious aggression, preventing the dishonest designs of an enemy that is far superior to weapons and numbers. Feats of Heroic Valor and victims left an indelible message on the sand of the time: that a united nation can never be defeated,” said.

ISPR added that the courage of fearless heroes continues to inspire future generations and that their heritage should live on forever. The armed forces also expressed their decision to extend all-out support to victims of the ongoing floods over Pakistan and confirmed their promise to defend the country against any threat and promised an “appropriate and crucial reaction” to any attempt to disrupt the hard-earned peace.

‘A wonderful chapter’

President Asif Ali Zardari called in his message issued from Presidency 6 September a “wonderful chapter” in Pakistan’s history. He paid tribute to the tribute to the brave soldiers and resilient citizens who, with unshakable beliefs and unmatched courage, have defended the borders of the country.

The president highlighted the importance of this year’s Defense Day in the light of the recent operation “Bunyan-Um-Marsoos”, which was performed in May 2025. “Like our brave forces demonstrated extraordinary skill and dedication in 1965, our sons again proved their unmatched courage during this year’s operation,” he said.

He paid tribute to professional expertise, combat readiness and multi-domain capabilities in the Pakistani military, denoting the nation’s defense “impervious” and built on its eternal spirit. As the chief commander of the armed forces, he repeated his commitment to modernizing Pakistan’s defense ability and emphasized to counteract modern threats such as hybrid warfare, disinformation and psychological operations.

President Zardari urged all columns in the state, especially youth, to remain aware, united and resilient in the light of developing challenges. He confirmed Pakistan’s principle attitude towards Kashmir and Palestine and called Kashmir the fundamental cause of regional instability and condemns Israeli atrocities as genocide. He demanded a fair solution for Kashmir and an independent Palestinian state with al-QD’s al-Sharif as its capital.

“Let’s remain steadfast, brave and united, so that the victims of our martyrs are honored, our defense remains unbreakable, and we pass on a strong, prosperous and peaceful Pakistan to our future generations,” he concluded and paid tribute to the families of martyrs and veterans.

‘A symbol of courage’

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also paid tribute to the martyrs and Ghazis glowing and called September 6 “A symbol of courage, unity and resilience.” He remembered how Pakistan’s armed forces with full support from the people had averted enemy aggression in 1965 and proven the nation’s capacity to defend its independence and integrity.

Highlighting the recent “Operation Bunyan-Eum-Maroos, Marqa-E-Haq,” Prime Minister praised the army, Navy and Air Force for their unmatched professionalism and fighting skills under the strategic leadership of Coas Field Marshal Munir. He said the courage of martyrs and war veterans would continue to inspire generations.

PM Shehbaz confirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and constructive commitment, but warned against ignoring “continuous Indian provocations and changing regional dynamics.” He emphasized the strengthening of defense functions and resolutely counteracts foreign sponsored terrorism and proxy waring.

When expressing solidarity with the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the Prime Minister repeated unwavering support for their struggle for self -determination and condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression in Palestine and called for uninterrupted humanitarian help to Gaza.

The premiere emphasized that economic stability is important for strong defense and called on the nation to rise above personal differences for sustainable prosperity and confidence.

“On this Defense and Martyrdag, let us renew our promise to the timeless principles of faith, unity and discipline as imagined by Quaid-E-Azam and work together for a safe, united and prosperous Pakistan. Pakistan armed forces Zindabad, Pakistan Painnedabad,” he concluded.
