Islamabad:
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday paid tribute to the Pakistani fleet for his contribution to national security.
In their separate messages on Navy Day celebrated on September 8, the president and the prime minister remembered how the Navy during various wars with India protected the nation from the archive threats.
Zardari said the day is an opportunity to remember with pride the bold feats of our naval warriors and to recognize the important role that the navy continues to play in protecting Pakistan Maritime Frontiers.
He paid tribute to the martyrs whose victims would never be forgotten, and also greeted the Ghazians whose steadfastness remained a source of national pride. “Their against forces the entire nation’s decision,” he added.
The president said the 1965 war reminded them how Pakistan Navy, with courage and decision, wrote a golden chapter in history by striking far into the enemy waters. “Operation Somath became a symbol of brave and skill that inspired generations of sailors who came.”
Since then, he said, the Pakistani fleet has steadily evolved into a modern and multidimensional strength.
“Today, its responsibilities go far beyond combat readiness-from protection of sea trade routes to participate in international peace missions and disaster relief. This versatility reflects the marine’s professionalism and its unwavering dedication to the nation,” he added.
PM Shehbaz also paid tribute to the soldiers, officers and staff in the Pakistani Navy for their determination, courage and professional performance in defending maritime borders and interests in the country.
He said that the Pakistani navy story is full of stories of bravery, adding that even after the 1965 war, the key role of the Pakistani fleet is maintaining the balance of power of the Arabian Sea a testimony to its professional ability and strategy. “
