Christian society celebrates Easter today with great religious zeal, devotion and reverence.
To ensure security, security staff have been deployed in all churches across the country where review gates and CCTV cameras are installed. Easter Booting services are scheduled to be held between 7 p.m. 9 and 12.00.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expanded heartfelt greetings to the Christian community in Pakistan and around the world on the occasion of Easter, acknowledges their role in national development and calls for unity and harmony across faiths.
In his message, President Zardari said Easter is a time of hope, renewal and celebration of life. “It reminds us of compassion, victims and forgiveness. The Christian society has always played an important role in Pakistan’s development. We deeply recognize their contributions in education, healthcare, social welfare and public service,” he said.
Zardari reiterated that Pakistan’s constitution guarantees minority’s rights and confirmed the government’s continued commitment to their boost and empowerment.
“We are proud of their dedication to peace, harmony and coexistence in society,” he added.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his warmest wishes to the Christian community and emphasized the importance of Easter as a symbol of faith and renewal.
“Easter reminds us of the continuing power of faith and the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose message of compassion and love continues to inspire humanity,” he said.
The premiere praised the Christian society for its historical contribution to the formation of Pakistan and its continued role in the country’s socio -economic progress.
He expressed hope that Christians would remain active participants in shaping an inclusive and United Pakistan.
Sindh -Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also congratulated Christians at Easter and said, “Easter teacher mutual respect and love. Christian citizens have played a key role in Pakistan’s development. We respect all minorities and believe that love and harmony lead to national progress.”
