Islamabad:
President Asif Ali Zardari confirmed on Sunday that Pakistan and China would continue to expand cooperation in defense production and aviation, which further elaborated on their strategic partnership throughout the weather.
He said that J-10 and JF-17 had strengthened Pakistan Air Force to a great extent, a fact that was clearly demonstrated in May 2025’s Marka-E-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
President visited the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), China’s Flagship Aviation and Defense conglomerate, dealing with the design and production of a wide range of military and civilian aircraft, Presidential Secretariat Press Wing said in a statement.
During the visit, the president toured the scattered complex in its entirety, producing the J-10C fighter aircraft, which played a crucial role in recent conflict with India.
He also met AVIC engineers and researchers who informed the president about their innovation, production and future technologies.
Asif Zardari was informed of Avic’s advanced capabilities, including the J-10 fighter aircraft, the co-production of the JF-17 thunder with Pakistan, as well as progress in the J-20 stealth 5th generation-fighter aircraft, unmanned aircraft, fully automated devices and integrated command control systems to modern multi-domains.
He paid tribute to Avic as a symbol of China’s technological advances and the sustained strategic partnership between the two countries.
President Zardari’s visit also marked a historic first when no foreign head of state visited the AVIC complex.

President Zardari arrived in Chengdu on Friday to start a 10-day visit to China on invitation from the Chinese government. On the first day, he participated in the second Golden Panda Awards and held conversations with senior members in the Communist Party in China (CPC).
The president, who approached the International Cultural Forum on Saturday, said the culture remained a “vital bridge to peace, prosperity and a common future of humanity.”
He expressed Pakistan’s full support for China’s vision of “Civilization Exchange and Mutual Learning” and highlighted the importance of the Global Development Initiative (GDI), Global Security Initiative (GSI) and Global Governance Initiative (GGI) that emphasized their focus on sustainable development, regional stability and inclusive international cooperation.
Zardari noted that the world underwent dramatic changes and praised President Xi Jinping for offering “a path to cooperation and win-win solutions instead of confrontation.” He congratulated the award winners and described their creativity as an artistic endeavor that “transcends boundaries and unites people through common human values.”
