President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday expressed strong support to Pakistan’s armed forces following unprovoked missile attacks from India as tensions between the two nuclear armed neighbors continue to escalate.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif urged the president of Aiwan-e-Sadr and informed him of Pakistan’s response performed during Operation Bunyan-Un-Maroos.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, and the Minister of Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, also attended the meeting.

President Zardari praised the military for his “extraordinary professionalism and bravery” by delivering what he called an “appropriate answer” to Indian aggression.

He repeated that Pakistan, despite being a peace -loving nation, had been forced to act in defense of its sovereignty and people after repeated provocations from the entire border.

“Pakistan has shown considerable restraint, but India’s continued warfare has left us without the opportunity to respond resolutely,” the president said.

He confirmed that the entire nation was firmly behind the armed forces and that Pakistan would protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.

While Pakistan has given details of his answer, India has not yet issued an official statement of the claims of missile attacks or the military operation.

The government has called for national unity and expressed its commitment to peace while maintaining its right to defend itself against external threats.

Pakistan began retaliation in response to the ongoing Indian aggression during the small hours on Saturday.

As part of the operation, all bases identified as launch points are targeted for attacks on Pakistani civilians and mosques specifically.

Several strategic goals are engaged at the same time as the operation progresses, security sources are confirmed.

They said Pakistan launched his al-Fatah missile as part of the ongoing retaliatory surgery and named it in honor of the Pakistani children who lost their lives in recent Indian aggression.

They added that Pakistan has neither forgotten nor will ever forget about the sacrifice of these innocent children who were martyrated during cross -border attacks by Indian forces earlier this week.

Earlier, the Indian Air Force Vingo commander Vyomika Singh declared that India’s military remains obliged to step down if Pakistan retaliates-then soaring tensions between the two nuclear armed neighbors pushing them to the brim of the whole war.

Singh spoke at a press conference on Saturday with the Indian Army Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri after Pakistan launched retaliatory attacks on Indian goals.

Colonel Qureshi admitted that Pakistan’s retaliation had damaged equipment and wounded staff of five Indian Airbases – Outhadow, Pathankot, Adampur, Bhuj and Bathinda – after targeting “more than 26 places.”
