Karachi: President Asif Ali Zardari has tested positively for Covid-19 and has been placed in isolation, his doctor confirmed Dr. Asim Hussain Wednesday.

Talking to Pakinomist NewsDr. Hussain said the president received medical treatment from specialists in infectious diseases at a private hospital.

“Because of his condition, all meetings with the president are strictly forbidden,” he added.

He also said that President Zardari was closely monitored and several tests have been conducted to assess his health status. “The medical team ensures around the clock observation to control his condition effectively,” he added.

President Zardari was moved to a private hospital in Karachi from Nawabshah – after experiencing health problems.

Separately rejected Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon reports on Zardari’s health and said his health improved.

In a statement, Memon said that reports suggesting that President Zardari was moved to Dubai for medical treatment was not true and that the latter would soon recover completely.

Previously, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had asked about President Zardari Health via a phone call.

The prime minister asked for the early recovery of the president, adding that prayers from all over the nation were with the president.

Meanwhile, Sindh -Governor Kamran Tessori had also contacted President Zardari’s doctor Dr. Asim Hussain to inquire about the head of state and wish him well.
