President Zardari will visit the UAE from 26-29 January

The visit follows the UAE president’s recent trip to Pakistan, reflecting the close ties between the two countries

ISLAMABAD:

President Asif Ali Zardari will pay an official visit to the United Arab Emirates from January 26 to 29, accompanied by a high-level delegation, Pakistan’s presidency said on Monday.

During the visit, the President is scheduled to hold meetings with the UAE leadership to review bilateral relations focusing on trade and economic cooperation, defense and security and people-to-people ties.

Discussions will also cover regional and international issues of common interest, the statement said.

The visit follows the UAE president’s recent trip to Pakistan and reflects the close ties between the two countries, it added, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.

On 27 December 2025, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, paid an official visit to Pakistan, marking his first official visit as President.

During the visit, he held talks with Pakistani leadership on strengthening bilateral cooperation across key areas, including trade, investment and security

The visit, conducted at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, came at a time when Pakistan’s relations with the Gulf states have witnessed a renewed upswing, driven by expanded cooperation in defense, investment, energy and regional diplomacy.
