Former NBA guard Ben McLemore was sentenced to 100 months in prison Wednesday after being found guilty of raping a 21-year-old woman in Oregon in 2021.
A jury from Clackama’s County Circuit Court found McLemore, 32, guilty last week on a first -time rape allegation, an indictment of first -time illegal sexual penetration and a counting of other degree sexual abuse. He was found not guilty of a further prosecution for the second degree of sexual abuse.
McLemore, who pleaded not guilty of all four counts, did not treat the court on Wednesday while his verdict was read to him.

“Many people are often afraid of reporting this type of behavior for several reasons,” said Clackama’s County first assistant district lawyer Scott Healy in a statement per day. Espn.
“Hopefully the victim’s strength and courage in this case will give others the strength to emerge in circumstances where sexual abuse has taken place. The verdict that the defendant received today must serve as a reminder that this type of behavior will not be tolerated in our society and that Clackama’s County DA’s office will always work hard to keep promises to be responsible and give justice for victims.”

The incident took place in Lake Oswego, Oregon, in October 2021, when McLemore was identified as a suspect by the authorities after the woman’s complaint.
The woman appeared on video Wednesday and read a statement aloud to court.
“This has been the longest almost four years of my life. I had never imagined reporting this back in 2021 would lead to such an incredibly difficult and long journey,” she said pr. Espn. “The last few years have often felt like a weight that I have had to pull behind me, a constant reminder of the trauma that I have not been able to work fully because there was no end in sight. I now understand at a deep level, why so many victims hesitate or never reported what happened to them.”

In February 2024, a grand jury listened to Clackamas County to evidence in the case, which included the woman’s testimony that McLemore assaulted her. McLemore was arrested two months later by American Marshals.
During the trial, the Healy told the jury, which the woman went out on a living room couch at about 1 p.m. 2 after drinking vigorously. She regained partial consciousness the next morning when McLemore sexually penetrated her and continued to have sex with her.
McMemor’s team of lawyers contested the allegations and said she began sexual contact and accepted it. The lawyers also claimed that the woman was sober enough to accept sexual contact.
McLemore, a Kansas product, played nine seasons in NBA, five with Sacramento Kings, who took him seventh in the NBA draft in 2013.
He jumped around the league towards the end and played for Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and finally the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2021-22 season.
