The Crown Prince expressed his intention to make an official visit to Pakistan in the coming year
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Wednesday, stressing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to maintain regional peace and stability, the prime minister’s office said in a statement.
According to the statement, the conversation, which took place this evening, was held in a very warm and cordial atmosphere. During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed his respectful greetings and good wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as well as to the Crown Prince.
The Prime Minister thanked the Saudi Crown Prince for his warmth and affection towards Pakistan. “Both leaders reaffirmed their joint commitment to further strengthen the long-standing brotherly ties between both countries, which had reached new heights over the past months,” the statement added.
The two leaders also exchanged views on developments in the regional situation and current developments as Prime Minister Shehbaz stressed the need to maintain unity and harmony among the ranks of the Ummah amidst various challenges.
He stressed the imperative to maintain regional peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy while expressing Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the Kingdom. “It was imperative to maintain regional peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy,” the prime minister said.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman thanked the Prime Minister for the invitation and reiterated the Kingdom’s desire to expand cooperation with Pakistan in all areas of mutual interest. He also expressed his intention to pay an official visit to Pakistan in the coming year.
Earlier, in a statement expressing deep concern over the resurgence of violence in Yemen, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed “full solidarity” with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reaffirmed its commitment to the Kingdom’s security.
