Prince Andrew’s current crisis has threatened royal reconciliation between King Charles and his estranged son Prince Harry, a royal expert has claimed.
Prince Andrew, his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson and the royal family as a whole are struggling to cope with the backlash following the publication of Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoirs.
Royal expert Jennie Bond told Mirror, “I think the king has enough on his plate at the moment with the Andrew crisis and his work as sovereign, there can’t be much room left in his head to deal with his younger son.”
But the royal expert said: “Hopefully it’s still bubbling along quietly behind the scenes, which is exactly where it needs to stay if there is to be any hope of seeing them back together.”
Jennie went on to say: “Perhaps when he prayed in the Vatican with the Pope, both of his sons – who he once asked ‘not to make my last years a misery’ – could well have been in his thoughts and prayers.”
Jennie made fresh demands days after Prince Andrew shared a shocking statement about giving up royal titles.
The palace released Prince Andrew’s statement, which read: “With His Majesty’s consent, we feel that I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honors that have been bestowed upon me.”
