Prince Harry, Meghan fly out Archie, Lilibet after King Charles gift

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to end their 2025 on a pleasant note as they put past turmoil behind them for the joy of their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who have not attended the royal traditional Christmas service at Sandringham for the past six years, appeared to have started their own tradition but also added some royal rites of passage to the festive season.

As frosty relations begin to thaw and move towards a much more cordial correspondence with the royal family, particularly King Charles, the Sussexes have made some special plans for the holiday.

Although the Sussexes won’t be joining the royal family at Sandringham for Christmas again this year, they plan to fly out of the US straight after with their children.

According to sources cited by Page sixthe family and some friends want a lavish New Year’s holiday out of the country. Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, will also attend.

The insiders suggested the Sussexes will not go to the Philippines, where Meghan’s estranged father Thomas Markle is in hospital as he recovers from life-saving leg amputation.

The update comes after Palace released details of a surprise gift planned months in advance for families spending holidays away from loved ones.

Charles has always cared for people stationed on the frozen continent, Antarctica, giving them words of hope and joy. This time he had “gifted” a Royal Mail ‘lamp’ letterbox which would allow them to stay in touch with their loved ones.

This is also a reflection of how Charles understandably feels being away from his son and grandchildren. However, there is a possibility that they would finally be able to meet Archie and Lilibet in person as Harry’s security is being reviewed. It remains to be seen when the meeting will actually take place.
