Harry and Meghan announce big news for Archie and Lilibet

The Sussexes are building a family empire.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle mark a new chapter for their philanthropic organization, which includes their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Formerly known as the Archewell Foundation, named after their first-born Prince Archie, the organization is now called “Archewell Philanthropies” from Friday 19 December.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the announcement on their website, explaining that the decision is partly inspired by their young children. “After five beautiful years, the Archewell Foundation will become Archewell Philanthropies. This charitable entity allows the couple and their children to expand their global philanthropic efforts as a family.”

The statement continued: “Archewell Philanthropies is home to the charitable work of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex as they expand their global philanthropic efforts to achieve meaningful maximum impact.”

Harry and Meghan only launched the organization in 2020 after stepping back from their royal duties and moving to the United States, where they have since lived with their children.

Archewell’s most notable project is promoting online safety for children and advocating for responsible technology.
