Prince Harry has once again thrown his father out of the frying pan and straight into the fire, reportedly with his fresh new optic war.
Everything has been broken down by royal commentator and Daily Beast contributor Tom Skyes on his sub-stack ‘The Royalist’.
There, he claims that while sources previously revealed that regular phone calls have resumed between father and son, and many assumed that Harry would ‘avoid overshadowing’ major royal events like Remembrance Sunday, scheduled for November 9, or even Armistice Day on November 11, “to make his own gesture,” instead “he has unleashed a new optics war.”
According to Mr Skyes, his team “deny any intention to overshadow Williams’ Rio showcase – featuring Kylie Minogue and the participation of global political leaders – but blamed the late announcement on Harry’s lack of international protected person status and ongoing security conflicts.”
But for the author, this explanation is “unlikely to be convincing, because when placed alongside someone like his older brother’s trip to Brazil, a charity dinner in Toronto risks looking modest.”
For those unfamiliar with this trip, the Duke has a lot in store for Canada. From visiting the Sunnybrook Veterans Center to attending events in support of veterans on Remembrance Day.
Also, all of this will follow a private lunch hosted by the True Patriot Love Foundation, a group dedicated to supporting Canadian military members and their families.
