Prince Harry was stopped from getting a tattoo back in the days.
The Duke of Sussex was deterred by his skin, which was inked by his close friends during a trip from 2012 to Las Vegas.
Harry wrote in his memoir ‘Reserve’, Harry revealed dialogue between his friends: “I need something to commemorate this journey, I decided. Something to symbolize my sense of freedom, my sense of carpe diem. For example … a tattoo? Yes! Just things!”.
Harry, 40, added: “Maybe on my shoulder? No, too visible. Lacquers on the back? No, also … Racy. Maybe my foot? Yes.
The Duke continued in the 2023 book: “What would the tattoo would be? I thought and thought. What is important to me? What is holy? Of course – Botswana. I had seen a tattoo salon down in the block. I hoped they would have a good atlas, with a clear card of Botswana.”
“I went to find the Billy cliff to tell him where we were going. He smiled. No way.
“My comrades supported him. Definitely not. In fact, they promised to physically stop me. I wouldn’t get a tattoo, they said, not on their guard, least of a foot tattoo of Botswana.”
He explained further, he added, “They promised to hold me down, knock me out no matter what it took. A tattoo is permanent; it’s forever!
