Prince William seemed thrilled and didn’t hold back his praise when he met beloved Irish 90s boyband Westlife last month.

The Royal Variety Performance, held last month at the Royal Albert Hall in London, was attended by the Prince and Princess of Wales – also marking Kate Middleton’s return to the event for the first time since her battle with cancer.

As the show that aired recently revealed a lovely interaction the band had with the future king and even extended an invitation to a show in 2026.

Nicky Byrne, Shane Filan, Kian Egan had taken the stage to perform their hit, Our own worldand impressed the audience including the royal couple.

Of the performance, William said it “reminded” him to “hear [the band’s] songs for the first time”.

In a clip shared by Westlife, the prince also appears to yawn at the idea of ​​a “two-year” tour.

Nicky said that the tour will begin in September 2026 and go all over the world. At that William laughed, “Did you sign up for it in the dark, with a few drinks?”

Nicky added: “You’ve got to come down to the O2 to see us next year”, which is next October.

“There are many shows there, but this will be the first you start there,” asked the prince.

They shared that the band starts in Dublin, moves to the UK, Europe and then on to America and China.

William ended the conversation with words of encouragement “That’s great” and “keep it up” and expressed his gratitude for the achievement.
