Prince William caught sight of having what seemed to be a pleasant conversation with his mother -in -law, Carole Middleton, at Ascot Racecourse on Wednesday.

The royal source said Kate was disappointed not to attend.
The princess has gradually returned to her public royal role after completing a preventative chemotherapy last year to tackle the presence of an unspecified form of cancer.
