Prince William, Princess Kate give in by public demand to brutal challenge

Prince William and Princess Kate appeared to have heard public opinion and offered a tribute to a very special person after he won over the British public.

The Prince of Wales last month surprised BBC Radio host Greg James by embarking on an eight-day journey on a tandem bicycle to raise money for Red Nose Day. The charity fundraiser had been a brutal challenge, requiring Greg to travel 1000 miles on a bicycle.

Each day Greg had been joined by a special guest and during the fifth day RJ was delighted to see the future king come and join him for the challenge. William rode alongside Greg as they engaged in playful banter.

This was met with an outpouring of comments urging the royals to honor Greg, not only because of how loved he is for his show, but also for the incredible challenge he took on for charity which will change so many lives.

While Greg has yet to be knighted, Kensington Palace shared a “Spring Rewind” for the Prince and Princess of Wales, making “the start of 2026 so special”.

Among the many moments. Greg was included in one of the slides out of the 19 shared on social media.

This delighted the Radio1 Breakfast Show host, who commented: “I did the royal dump!”

Support had poured in from listeners and famous faces ever since he completed the grueling challenge.

“It’s been such a struggle at times, but everyone has gotten me through it,” he said after completing the final leg of the journey. “What I will remember most is seeing the joy from everyone and pushing through the pain to get to that joy.”

Greg managed to raise £4,041,910 for Comic Relief, which supports a wide range of UK charities tackling poverty, gender injustice, early childhood and development and homelessness.
