Prince William is said to be a driving force behind Andrew’s exit from the Royal Lodge following his fall from grace over his links to the convicted financier.
Heir to the British throne William believes Andrew’s past will chase the monarchy like a racehorse if barriers are not put in place to stop it.
King Charles has already officially stripped Andrew of his royal titles and honours. He will no longer be styled “Prince Andrew” or “His Royal Highness”, and will instead be known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
But William is more anxious to get this settled before he takes his role of destiny. He believes that Andrew’s presence will cast a shadow over his reign, and he will not have that baggage when he is crowned.
Some royal commentators appear to defend the future monarch’s stance towards his uncle, explaining why it is important for William to get rid of Andrew’s problem before he ascends the throne, especially amid ongoing protests and posters displaying “Shame” along with the disgraced royal’s image in Britain.
William believes Andrew’s scandal is halting the monarchy’s progress, damaging its reputation and distracting the royals from carrying out their duties, as it is vital for the institution to continue with its usual pomp and prestige.
“They operate at different speeds, but in this situation, with someone like Andrew, it makes the institution look positively old-fashioned and cumbersome, not the nimble monarchy that can be modernized with the times,” royal commentator Meredith Constant said. Fox News.
Meanwhile, Andrew is desperate to take whatever he can get despite his fall from grace and tries to save as much of his eternal privilege as possible before he is expelled from the Royal Lodge. The former prince is also fighting a losing battle to protect his dignity and his daughters’ status as princesses.
