Prince William and Kate Middleton have confirmed plans to move into their new family home, Forest Lodge, trigger widespread speculation and debate about social media about the timing and motives behind the decision.
The Prince and Princess of Wales’ relocation was announced after weeks of rumors in which Kensington Palace confirmed the couple’s choice of landscape residence as their “Forever Home.”
Online discussions followed quickly, with some roses paired to favor a more private lifestyle, while others questioned why the news was published now.
The message came when William and Kate were facing criticism of a lack of victory over Japan Day memorials, where Senior Royals marked the 80th anniversary of the end of 2nd World War.
British tabloids accused the couple of choosing a holiday over honor of history and intensifying control over their role in royal tasks.
Royal fans responded with mixed feelings. Supporters admired the couple’s decision to reject palaces and castles, even after William eventually rose the throne and saw the move as a sign of humility.
But others were speculating on potential palads, suggesting that Queen Camilla’s team may have deliberately leaked the story to draw the media attention away from recently appeared yacht photographs of her vacation.
Some commentators suggested that William had no choice other than to confirm the move in public.
Despite speculations, the couple has remained silent about the scrap and instead focused on settling in the Forest Lodge with their three children.
