Priscilla Presley reflects on the last night she spent with her daughter Lisa Marie Presley, just days before her sudden death in January 2023.
The 80-year-old participated in the Golden Globe Awards with Lisa Marie to support Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis Biopic and its star, Austin Butler, who won the best actor in a drama.
After the ceremony, the couple planned to get a drink, but Lisa Marie complained about abdominal pain and decided to go home.
“A little we knew how bad it was,” Priscilla told People In this week’s cover story. “It hit us all. We were just mute.”
Two days later, Lisa Marie died at the age of 54 from a small bowel obstruction associated with a former bariatric surgery.

Lisa Marie was put to rest in Graceland, where she is buried with her father, Elvis Presley. Priscilla admits that the loss remains devastating.
“It was the second saddest day of my life, except for losing Elvis,” she said. “You never really come over losing a child.”
