In her new memoir Soft while I leave you, Priscilla Presley takes an iron against Michael Jackson.
In the light of her late daughter Lisa Marie, who ties the knot with the pop icon, the author writes that she was “horrified” of her decision.
The reason for the shock she pens is her daughter’s marriage to him came shortly after the deceased singer of Billie Jean was accused of molesting children.
This makes the 80-year-old believe that the king of pop went down the hall with her daughter with the intention of repairing her image and not of real feeling for her.
“I didn’t think he loved her,” Priscilla claims. “He married her at a time when he desperately needed good advertising that portrayed him as a desirable heterosexual man.”
The author doubles on his claim by pointing to the engagement ring, which she writes proves her belief that Michael wanted ‘good advertising’ from this wedding.
“It was one thing to fight the children’s corridor fees against him. There was no way to get out of what looks good.”
“But photos of Elvis’s daughter wearing the huge diamond tuition ring he had made for her? That picture was pure gold,” she notes.
However, the marriage, which took place in 1994, lasted for almost two years. Lisa requested divorce in 1996. The couple had no children.
