A report describing the prison conditions for former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, has been presented with Islamabad High Court.
The report stated that Bushra Bibi is receiving regular health surveillance and has access to a dedicated kitchen room in prison, Express News reported.
Justice Raja Inam Amin Minhas from Islamabad High Court on Tuesday heard the petition requested improved prison facilities for Bushra Bibi. Her lawyers, Usman Gul and Zaheer Abba’s lawyer, appeared in court.
The lawyer’s office presented a report from the prison superintendent.
The court instructed the report to be shared with Bushra Bibi’s legal team.
According to the report, Bushra Bibi is held in a separate and spacious space.
She receives medical control twice a day. A mattress, chair, table, bookshelf and adequate lighting and fan facilities have been delivered in the room.
The report also states that a space cooler has been installed for the summer and an LCD TV is available.
A separate kitchen has been arranged to allow her to prepare her meals examined by prison medicine officer before serving.
The court ordered Bushra Bibi’s lawyer to review the report and present their answers during the next hearing.
The court declared that the case would continue in accordance with the guard schedule.
Earlier, an anti-terrorism (ATC) on Monday extended the temporary guarantee of Bushra Bibi, in two cases related to protest 26 November until 11 June.
Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain from ATC heard Bushra Bibis Bailing Petitions. Her lawyer submitted applications seeking exemption from personal appearance.
