Project to transform kindergarten into ‘Gardenia Hub’

Islamabad:

Capital Development Authority (CDA )’s Development Working Party (DWP) approved Wednesday PC-1 for upgrading, restoration and transformation of CDA Nursery on Park Road and its conversation to a Gardenia hub.

The 72nd meeting in DWP was held in the CDA headquarters on Wednesday and was attended by senior officials from the Division of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Interior Ministry (MOI), Finance Division, CDA Board members and other relevant authorities.

During the meeting, the PC-1 for the project was to upgrade and restore the CDA kindergarten on Park Road and convert it to Gardenia Hub. The estimated costs of the project are approx. RS652,819 million. The goal is to transform the existing CDA kindergarten into a model facility with different facilities.

This initiative is in accordance with the vision of Pakistan’s Prime Minister, who announced the project during the inauguration of the F-8 exchange/flying on December 24, 2024.

The CDA kindergarten, located on Park Road in Islamabad and covers 50 hectares, is imagined to become a significant horticultural center under the Gardenia Hub project. The plan includes the construction of flower shops and cafes.

The project will contain advanced, controlled and ventilated greenhouses for growing a number of plants. In addition, a kindergarten facility will be established for tissue propagation and a sustainable drip irrigation system.

A designated area will also be delivered for colorful flower exhibitions. The extensive design of the project reflects CDA’s obligation to improve green spaces in Islamabad and promote environmental sustainability. Transforming the kindergarten into Gardenia Hub is a step towards making Islamabad a greener and more vibrant capital.
