Los Angeles: Protests over hard immigration tactics ignite across the United States on Wednesday after days of demonstrations in Los Angeles as California prepared for a legal showdown with the White House over US President Donald Trump’s deployment of the military.

Over 1,000 people massaged in America’s second largest city for a sixth day of protests, with the crowd peacefully as they marched through the streets.

Another evening with curfew was expected as city leaders are trying to get a grip on the aftermath of vandalism and looting of this scarred a few city blocks in the 500 square mile (1,300 square kilometers) Metropol.

“I would mostly say that everything is Hunky Dory right here at Ground Zero,” says Protester Lynn Sturgis, 66, a retired schoolteacher, told AFP.

“Our city is not on fire at all, it does not burn down that our awful leader is trying to tell you.”

The mostly peaceful protests ignited over a sudden escalation in the efforts to understand migrants who were illegal in the country.

Violent-pockets-Inclusive combustion of self-propelled taxis and thrown stones at the police — had nothing, the 8,500 officers in the Los Angeles Police Department had not treated before.

Trump won the election last year partly about promises to fight what he claims is a “invasion” of undocumented migrants.

He now seizes the opportunity to put political capital and order California National Guard to deploy despite governor Gavin Newsom’s objections, the first time an American president has taken such action for decades.

“We want a safe country,” he told journalists on the way into a theater performance.

“We don’t want what would have happened in Los Angeles. Remember if I wasn’t there … Los Angeles would have burned to the ground.”

About 1,000 of the 4,700 troops that Trump inmates were actively protective facilities and worked with ICE agents, said Scott Sherman, deputy who commanded General Army North, who leads operations.

The rest – including 700 Active Duty Marines – patterned or underwent training to handle civilian disorders, he said.

The Pentagon has said the implementation will cost taxpayers $ 134 million.

Governor Newsom, a Democrat, has accused Trump to try to escalate the political gain confrontation.

His lawyers were expected in court on Thursday to demand a temporary restriction order that would prevent troops from accompanying immigration staff when arresting migrants.

Administration attorneys called the application a “Krass political stunt”.

Newsom said that the unprecedented militarization would crawl beyond his state’s borders.

“Democracy is undergoing assault right in front of our eyes,” he said Tuesday. “California may be first, but it definitely doesn’t end here.”

Nationwide protests are growing

Despite Trump’s threats of deploying the National Guard into other democratic -driven states over the governor’s objections, protesters appear untapped.

Demonstrations were reported in St Louis, Raleigh, Manhattan, Indianapolis and Denver.

In San Antonio Marsians and sang hundreds near the town hall, where Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott has deployed the National Guard of the State.

A nationwide “no kings” movement was expected on Saturday, with Trump participating in a very unusual military parade in the US capital.

The parade of war plans and tanks has been arranged to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the US Army, but also happens to be the day of Trump’s 79 -year birthday.

‘Inflamed’ situation

The Trump administration paints the protests as a violent threat to the nation and requires military strength to support regular immigration agents and police.

But Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said the crisis was made in Washington.

“A week ago, everything was peaceful in the town of Los Angeles,” she told journalists.

“Things started to be difficult on Friday when attacks took place … That’s the cause of the problems.

“This was provided by the White House.”

Arrests of masked and armed men continued Wednesday.

A priest in the LA suburb of Downey said five armed men driving outside of state cars grabbed a Spanish-speaking man in the church’s parking lot.

When she challenged the men and asked for their badge numbers and names, they refused.

“They pointed their rifle to me and said, ‘You have to come back,'” Lopez told the TV station KTLA.

Recordings seen by AFP Shows what seems to be federal agents hitting a car in the Boyle Heights area of Los Angeles.

A kind of smoke unit is deployed, and masked men with weapons of attack order a man from the car, leaving behind what witnesses said was his wife and children poorly shaken.
