Falling on Hallmark Channel and Hallmark+ from August 2nd 2025, Providence falls is a new three-part film series after Cora (Katie Stevens) and Liam (Lachlan Quarmby), two police paired up to try to resolve a theft case. As theft becomes much more creepy, Cora doesn’t know that Liam is not a cop at all, but a lover from a past life that was sent out in time to try to make her fall in love with her “fate” in employee Finn (Evan Roderick).
Do you sound familiar? Well, the time travel element should at least. While the core romance could be picked directly from one of Hallmark’s Hall of Fames, there is another series on the platform that can immediately transport you to another historic timeline: The way home. Maining Andie Macdowell and Chyler Leigh, the show tells the story of the Landry family, who finds out that they can travel back in time to different points in their shared history by jumping in the pond at the end of their garden (as you do). Season 4 is expected to be sent in early 2026 and boy has some questions to answer.
Ponderers (which is obviously fanbase of the show) will know a key feature in The way home Time travel involves coming out of a water mass that is wet and must go and deal with the historic disasters that await you while you are completely soaked. Blink and you will miss it but there is a very similar circumstance in a rate of Providence fallsAnd the role crew admits that the random Easter egg was the most “challenging” scene in the flock.
Providence Falls’ most ‘challenging’ scene is an unintentional way home Easter eggs and I live for that

Spoilers to Providence falls front.
“There is a scene that was involved in a lake in and we shoot in Vancouver, and it was February, so you can imagine how freezing the water was and there were some stunts to go with it,” Stevens tells me about the scene. “So it was really, really challenging. Although we had the wet suit and things under our costume, it was still freezing. So it was probably the hardest thing, just for that. The scene is actually one of my favorite scenes in the whole series, but it was definitely not so glamorous to film.”
You find that scene at the end of part 2 of Providence fallsAs Cora tries to get away from Marcus when she realizes that he is really working on the wrong side. Marcus gives hunting and pulling a gun on Cora, leading to a side match by the water ending with Cora falling into the lake. Fortunately, Finn and Liam arrive just in time, with Liam heroic diving in to save Cora when she loses consciousness.
If this was an episode of The way homeCora would have emerged from the water back in her Irish timeline for the 19th century, aware that she is time travel between two points in history. Instead, Providence falls Choosing to overlap both timelines in a assembly, with Cora convinced that she dreams when she thinks of herself in the past. The act of traveling over time may be snappers in the new mini -series, but I can’t help but draw obvious parallels from how imagination mixes with reality.
There is another equality between Providence Falls and The Way Home

This is not the only Easter egg from Way home that I have seen in Providence fallsHowever. The opening scene looks almost identical with the forest where the Landry-Dam is set, with the 19th century Cora and Liam even venture into the water as cat and Alice (Sadie Laflame-Snow) had to be in The way home. However, this one is only a coincidence with all Providence falls‘Irish scenes that are filmed in … Well, Ireland.
“We filmed the first movie, and then we went to Ireland, shot all the Irish footage to all three films together and then went and made films two and three,” adds Stevens. “So, Ireland felt almost like its own movie. I think the advantage of how we shot is that our characters are trying to find each other out, and Cora has these dreams, but can’t really make sense of them yet. In real life we got these things back on our time in Ireland, so we now know what our characters think about the things they remember and we have actually shot these things, so they were really.
“We shot in Dublin and Kilruddery Castle, where Cora’s house is. And then we shot at the castle where Beckhams got married, which was really cool.”
