- New data reveals that PS5 outsource its predecessor PS4 in the US
- However, the Xbox Series X- and Xbox series falls behind Xbox One by 19%
- The PlayStation portal was also the best-selling game accessories in February 2025
New sales statistics have shown that the PS5 Outscels PS4 in the US, but the Xbox Series X- and Xbox Series are falling behind the Xbox One by a significant margin.
According to new data from Circana’s analyst in the video playing industry, Mat Piscatella recently shared that after each console’s first 52 months on the market, PS5 PS4 will surpass the sale by 7%.
Sony’s current gene console just had its best financial quarter on record and shipped nearly 10 million units by the end of 2024, so the fact that it’s far ahead of its predecessor is not surprising.
As for Microsoft’s systems, it seems that the sale of its current gene consoles is missing, as both the Xbox Series X and Xbox series is sold out by Xbox One by 19%.
It is also said that PS5 was the best-selling hardware platform of February 2025 “across both devices and dollars” and that the Xbox Series systems ranked number two in both goals.
Sony continued to have a successful February when its PlayStation Portal Basic Model was again the best -selling game accessories of the month in consumer expenses, while PS5 Portal Remote Player – Midnight Black ranked third overall, and PS5 DualSense Edge Wireless Controller – Midnight Black Placed Fifth.
The reason for lower Xbox Series X and S sales cannot be determined by the data we have, but it may be partly due to Microsoft’s PC presence, especially when you take into account the Xbox Game Pass that hit 34 million subscribers in February 2024.
Last year, it was reported that the PS5 massively outsalte Xbox Series X and the Xbox series and had sent 4.5 million units between January and March 2024. From the latest data, it is clear that PS5 is still dominating console sales and it does not count PS5 Pro devices.
