- PSIQUANTUM TO BUILDING TERGRY SCALA SYSTEMS IN BRISBANE AND CHICAGO WITH NEW FINANCE

PSIQUANTUM has announced that it has raised $ 1 billion of Series E-Financing to promote its goal of building faulty-tolerant quantum computers in the scope of one million quubits.
The company is planning to create sites in Brisbane and Chicago for large prototypes and start working with tool-scale systems.
Founded on the idea that commercially valuable quantum calculation requires error correction, psiquantum has focused its approach to photonic quubits.
Overcome scaling challenges
It believes that by combining photon -based quantum technology with the manufacturing features of the semiconductor facts, it can overcome scaling of challenges that continue to slow down progress in the field.
These include production capacity, cooling systems capable of handling thousands of chips and reliable networks between modules.
“Only to build the right Ting-Million-Qubit scale, fault-tolerant machines-will lock the promise of quantum calculation,” said Jeremy O’Brien, co-founder and CEO.
We defined what it takes from day one, this is a magnificent engineering challenge, not a science experiment. We tackled the most difficult problems first-to-architectural and chip level-and now is mass production’s best in the class quantum photonic chips at a leading American semiconductor factory. With this financing, we are ready to take the next stated steps to deliver the full potential for quarterly calculation, ”he added.
“Almost nine years after we started, we pushed the technology to an unprecedented level of maturity and performance,” said Pete Shadbolt, co -founder and Chief Scientific Officer.
“We have chips, we have switches, we have a scalable refrigeration technology, we can make networks, we have found the places, we have the commercial motive and government support-we are ready to move forward and build tool-scale systems.”
PSIQUANTUM has already built a high -volume manufacturing process for its integrated photonic chipset, designed internally and manufactured at Globalfoundries’ Fab 8 in New York.
It has also developed new electrooptic switches by including barium titanate in its chip production.
These contacts are considered critical for scaling optical quantum systems and can also be used in AI super computers that require low-power high-speed networks.
At the same time, the psiquantum designs cooling and control systems that look like data center racks rather than traditional cryostats.
The company has already demonstrated networks between quantum cabinets using standard telecommunications fiber, as it says is a requirement for large -scale implementation.
