Islamabad:
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Tuesday noted media reports on alleged availability of subscriber data online. In a statement, PTA clarified that it does not have or manage subscriber data which remains exclusively with licensed operators.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday noticed the question after Express news brought to the limelight for the second time that private data from citizens, including government ministers and key officials, were for sale on illegal sites.
According to the report, the location of mobile phones was available on these platforms.
