Police have arrested Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) activist Sanam Javed and her husband, Professor Atiq, near Kot Lakhpat Laahore, according to Express News.

The couple was arrested by a heavy police presence with multiple vehicles involved in their detention. They were led to a non -revealed place for further treatment.

The arrest took place after the hearing in connection with the 9th of May, in which Sanam Javed had participated.

Sanam Javed had previously been involved in the political turmoil around the events on May 9, which has led to a number of lawsuits against several party members.

Authorities have not revealed the exact charges against the couple at this time.
