Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has announced that it will Boikotte the upcoming elections in constituencies of party members who are disqualified in the May 9 cases and declare these persons their “true representatives.”
Several constituencies are ready to get hold of when the Pakistan Election Commission (ECP) recently disqualified several legislators belonging to PTI in their convictions in cases of the riots on May 9.
According to the ECP timet plan, for elections in NA-66 Wazirabad, NA-129 Lahore-XIII and PP-87 Mianwali-III election circles will Faisalabad-II, NA-104 Faisalabad-X and PP-98 Faisalabad-L, the polls will take place on October 5th.
The ruling Allied-Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had announced that they will jointly contest the upcoming election nationwide.
According to a statement issued after the PTI’s political committee meeting on Wednesday, the party said it considered the disqualified members victims of political vendetta and has praised their “victims”.
The party confirmed its full support to [disqualified members] And promised not to compete with elections in their constituencies as a brand of protest.
The statement also expressed strong concerns about the ongoing daily hearings of the Toshakhana case held in Adiala Prison.
The party said such procedures are a “violation of fundamental rights” and could undermine “justice in the justice system.”
It emphasized that daily hearings not only interfere with legal representation, but also put unnecessary pressure on the defendant.
In addition, the committee announced that the party on the instructions of the PTIS Founding Chair will resign from the National Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC), standing committees and presidencies.
However, PTI’s top committee has decided that the party will contest the election in Laore’s NA-129 constituency, which became vacant after Hammad Azhar’s father’s death, Mian Azhar.
PTI’s political committee thanked his founding chairman Imran Khan for shown full confidence in the committee and transferred future political decisions to the body for further consultation and strategic planning.
Meanwhile, several PTI MNAs have submitted their resignation from various parliamentary committees.
Faisal Amin Khan, brother of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, has withdrawn from all standing committees in the National Assembly.
He stepped down from the standing committee for financial affairs, the standing committee for national food security and the parliamentary task force at SDGS. His resignation was formally presented to Chief Whip Amir Dogar.
Another PTI MNA, Asif Khan, has withdrawn from the NA -Inflammation Committee and sent his resignation to NA speaker Ayaz Sadiq.
