Lahore:
PTI has clarified that the letter written by his Punjab leadership, while emphasizing the importance of meaningful dialogue, also expires speculation that its imprisoned leaders had fallen under any pressure.
In a speech with the Express Pakinomist, PTI’s Punjab -Social Media Head said the letter, written by one of the five prisoner leaders and delivered to the media through their lawyers, made no new demands in themselves.
He explained that the party is trying to hold negotiations at all levels, including with the forces that are, “who in reality runs the show and calls the shots”.
He emphasized that the central purpose of the letter was to reject the impression that PTI leaders are currently behind pillars were looking to settle their disputes with state institutions in an attempt to end their long -term imprisonment. “All of these five leaders are high and their commitment to the party’s case remains unshakable,” he said.
PTI’s call for a broader negotiation process is coming as PPP has already received support from PML-N.
Senior PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique called the Pti letter “Wise and Relevant”.
Saad Rafique, who was posted to his social media handles, wrote: “The letter from senior PTI leaders jailed in KOT Lakhpat prison in support of the dialogue process between political parties is important and wise. If the PTI founders agree with the statement about their senior colleagues, conversations can begin.”
However, he added that discussions should be held without prerequisites and focus on reducing bitterness through dialogue and gradually facilitating confrontations.
“If we can talk to enemy countries, why can’t we talk to each other?” he wrote.
Rafique noticed that Pakistan urgently needs a new and wider democratic charter, saying, “No discussion can be fruitful without reaching this. Let us sit down and decide on the constitution of Pakistan or recite the fatiha of democracy.”
He also said that the political forces, both in government and opposition, remain a political reality, regardless of changing popularity assessments.
“Similarly, denying the power of establishment also a denial of reality. The solution to our political crisis will not come through the use of force towards power, but through dialogue and consideration,” he added.
“No matter what solution to differences and complex problems emerge, it will be a step-by-step process. Instead of wasting energy on dragging and tearing each other apart, we should discuss ways to move the country forward,” Rafique said.
When he commented on PTI’s announcement of starting a protest movement after Muharram, he said, “I have no doubt that the protest movement will not be successful, even after Muharram”.
He attributed to the expected failure to the harsh weather, PTI’s weak organizational structure, internal canyons and the stiffness of state institutions.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi
Earlier in the day, PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi called the party’s chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Secretary General Salman Akram Raja to visit him in prison and said it was consensus for the inmates in Kot Lakhpat Prison to negotiate.
In a speech with journalists during his prison attempt, Qureshi added: “I will not pass on the name that PTI should initiate lectures”.
“The time of things is very important and it means a lot in politics, so I want to reveal the name at the right time,” he added.
With regard to the party’s continued struggle for political dialogue, he said: “We have talked about negotiations for two years, so what solution is left except protests when no answer is received?”
Qureshi said that PTI’s basic chairman, Imran Khan, would eventually make the final decision on any negotiations. “We wanted to talk to powerful corridors, but they received an answer that PTI should talk to politicians,” he said.
He noted that confusion was intensified due to the lack of access to Imran Khan. “They had to access Imran Khan so we could take his vision and explain ourselves,” he said.
The experienced politician said, “They are in prison and they do not know what is on earth. I have 42 years of experience in politics.” “The country is to bloom.”
Dr. Yasmeen Rashid, another imprisoned PTI leader, repeated the feeling of imprisoned party members. “We are in prisons for the sake of this country, not for mines. We know we had not committed any violation; we know they will punish us, but even then they stick to their attitude and do not bow to their interested interests,” she said.
“I have a lot of degree of education and I could go to any country for a better life, but I don’t want to do it as Pakistan is my country and I love it,” she added.
“We are talking about the constitution and will get justice through the courts.”
