Islamabad:
Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Central Information Secretary Sheikh Waqa’s Akram has hailed the country’s ‘overwhelming response’ on the call from the imprisoned party Supremo Imran Khan to observe the first anniversary of February 8, “Electoral Collaboration” as a black day.
In a statement on Sunday, Waqas praised the public for having stuck against what he called the government’s “oppressive tactics”, and demonstrated unwavering support to their leader through a record -breaking public collection in Swabi.
When Waqas condemned the government’s crash, Waqas condemned the arbitrary detention of PTI leaders and workers as well as the violent oppression of peaceful protests.
He said the demonstrations were a legitimate response to “Mega Poll robbery committed on February 8, 2024 in broad daylight”.
He demanded immediate release by all imprisoned PTI leaders and workers and claimed that a “awakened nation cannot be scared or silent through brutal and inhuman tactics”.
Waqas paralyzed the two dynastic political parties-PPP and PML-N-n and said they had repeatedly been given opportunities of the nation but had only prioritized their own interests, which was about people’s expense.
He recalled that Imran Khan had long predicted that the Sharif and Zardari families were never in conflict for the welfare of the country, but rather for their own political gains.
“Imran Khan had predicted how these political dynasties would eventually unite against PTI in a desperate attempt to save their dwindling political fortunes,” he noted.
He accused PPP and PML-N of forming a “marriage to convenience” because of their interwoven interests, adding that their so-called discrepancies were only a distraction.
As for PPP’s repeated threats of leaving the government, Waqas dismissed them as a fuck and said the government was using Nab to open corruption cases against PPP leaders to maintain control.
He also ridiculed the “bittersweet connections” between the two parties and felt their public disputes as just eye wash. “Both parties are focused solely on protecting their own interests without any genuine concern for Pakistan’s welfare or its people’s well -being,” he said.
He further claimed that their ultimate goal was to run PTI by keeping Imran Khan, party leaders and workers in arbitrary detention, suppressing dissent and undermining the democratic process.
Waqas condemned the non-elected government of exposing Imran Khan to “inhuman treatment, including lonely inclusion and removing him for all constitutionally and legally guaranteed privileges as a former prime minister”.
