Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has announced that it will not participate in the government’s briefing on the current Pakistan India tension after the Pahagam incident, Express News reported Sunday.

In a statement issued after a meeting of PTI’s political committee, the party repeated its “unambiguous and consistent condemnation of all forms of terrorism.” The statement also highlighted former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s repeated calls for national unity and internal stability, even while being imprisoned.

“Imran Khan, despite being illegally imprisoned, has clearly condemned terrorism and called on the nation against unity,” the party said, calling his message “reflective of the vision of a national leader.”

PTI confirmed his commitment to defending the country in the light of external aggression and quoted a decision adopted on its basic day condemning Indian actions and propaganda.

The party criticized the government for failing to convene an All Parties Conference (APC) and argued that such a step was crucial to building agreement on national security. Instead, PTI said, a government minister issued a unilateral briefing without any effort to include key opposition figures like Imran Khan.

“This is only a government -led briefing without the intention of creating national consensus,” the statement states. “In these circumstances, PTI sees no value in participation.” The decision, the party said, was unanimously reached by its political committee.
