Islamabad:
PTI has completed a comprehensive plan for its expected protest movement on August 5 in the middle of an extended rift in the party.
According to sources, the party’s central management has issued fresh instructions to all provincial leaders and organizational units to ensure a strong turnout for the protest on August 5. It has been decided that every ticket holder will lead a protest demonstration in their respective constituency and hold a rally.
However, reports from the party suggest that several leaders have expressed a lack of confidence in Secretary General Salman Akram Raja. Sources claim that Raja has stated in several meetings that he is “not protest material”, leading to dissatisfaction among some party members about his role.
An important meeting of the party’s political committee is expected today (Saturday), but no place has ended for it yet. Sources said that Raja has already traveled to Sindh, allegedly disregarding the importance of the political committee, which can elaborate on the internal divisions within the party. Furthermore, according to the beliefs of the events on May 9, several senior leaders remain absent from the public scene, which affects the party’s organizational activities.
Earlier, Thursday, a statement of prison PTI founder Imran Khan appeared in the media, where he ordered each member of his party to immediately set aside all internal differences and focus only on the party’s protest movement August 5, “as there is no meaningful momentum that is currently being built”.
