Imran Khan tasked Salman Akram Raja to reconstitute the party committee; Chairman Gohar, KP CM Afridi and others included

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has reconstituted a new 23-member political committee, issuing a formal notice notably excluding former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur from the new structure.
According to the party, PTI founder Imran Khan tasked general secretary Salman Akram Raja to form a new political committee. Pursuant to these directions, a notice bearing the signatures of Raja and senior leader Firdous Shamim Naqvi announced the committee’s formation.
It appears from the notification that 23 senior managers have been included in the restructured body. PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan and General Secretary Raja are among its members.
Other people named in the committee include Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Sheikh Waqas Akram, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai and former Leader of the Opposition Omar Ayub.
Former Leader of Opposition in Senate Shibli Faraz, Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Moin Qureshi, Former Leader of Opposition in Punjab Malik Ahmed Khan Bachhar, Overseas Division Secretary Sajjad Burki and Punjab Chief Organizers Alia Hamza, Junaid Akbar, Haleem Adil and Dawood Kakar have also been added.
Representation from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan includes Khalid Khurshid and Sardar Qayyum Niazi. Former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, National Assembly Chief Whip Amir Dogar, Senate Coordinator Fauzia Arshad, Women’s Wing President Kanwal Shauzab and Minority Wing President Lal Chand Malhi are also part of the committee.

According to the notification, the political committee will act as the apex decision-making forum of the party, responsible for formulating decisions, formulating policies and drafting guidelines for parliamentary wings.
“The political committee will also lay down the policies to be followed by the party’s parliamentary parties in the National Assembly, the Senate and the Provincial Assemblies, including the Assemblies of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu Kashmir,” the release said.
While Gandapur’s name is not in the new lineup, the announcement adds that additional leaders may be included or removed as needed.
