Senator Faisal Vawda has said that the next round of talks between the PTI and the government is likely to take place after January 20 – after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump.

“I think serious talks can happen after January 20, but even then it will be on PTI’s terms. However, the so-called ‘Trump card’ doesn’t seem like a strong one to me.”

“If the Trump card somehow lands in Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s pocket due to backdoor diplomacy, what will happen? This is a strong possibility. Seriousness is essential for negotiations.”

He added: “There is no negotiation, it’s just a joke right now.

He said within PTI there are compromised persons who want former Prime Minister Imran Khan to remain in jail or even get injured so that they can continue to benefit politically and personally.
