PTI is looking for Jis Mediation to Imran’s release

Lahore:

Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has approached Jamaat-E-Islami (JI) to mediate with the federal government for the release of his imprisoned foundation chairman, Imran Khan.

The confirmation came from Ji Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, who revealed that senior PTI leaders had reached him some time ago and asked the party to facilitate dialogue with the government.

According to Hafiz Naeem, Jamaat-e-Islami made it clear that any such mediation would only be possible if PTI formally requires JI to lead these conversations on its behalf.

“We called for a party meeting and decided that if PTI gives a clear mandate and remains firm in its position, we are ready to facilitate discussions with the government,” he said.

He further emphasized that the country passes through a critical time and all political stakeholders must work together to move Pakistan forward.

“We have made it clear that mediation is only possible if both sides come up with unambiguous positions. We will not be part of any process ruined by ambiguity,” added Hafiz Naeem.

Ji -site presents Ameer Liaqat Baloch also confirmed that PTI leaders, including Barrister Gohar Khan, Senator Azam Swati and Ali Amin Gandapur, had contacted him in February 2025.

It is noteworthy that PTI launched a 90-day nationwide protest campaign on July 13, calling for the release of Imran Khan. Meanwhile, the federal government has announced the formation of a new security force, a step that has drawn sharp criticism from opposition parties.

Political analysts suggest that successful mediation from Jamaat-e-Islami could prove to be central to breaking the ruling political stalemate in the country.
