Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) has formally sought permission from the Islamabad District Administration to hold a political collection in the Federal Capital’s F-9 park on August 5 in response to a call from party founder Imran Khan.

According to a formal application submitted to Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, PTI has requested approval to organize a demonstration between 7 p.m. 16 and 22 on the specified date.

The request was filed by the PTI Islamabad Secretary -General Malik Amir Ali and carries the signatures of both Malik Amir and the regional party’s president, Amir Masood Mughal.

In a speech with the media after submitting the application, Malik Amir declared that keeping peaceful gatherings and protests is the party’s constitutional and legal right. “We will hold a demonstration in Islamabad on August 5 in accordance with Imran Khan’s call,” he said.

The party has identified the F-9 Park as the proposed place of the collection and has emphasized that it is the intention of holding a peaceful and legal event.

It is worth noting that the PTI founder, after a series of failed protests, has again decided to demonstrate street power to campaign for the rule of law and release of prisoner party leaders and workers. However, the party seems to be divided on key political issues, with disagreement votes that are increasingly emerging in the public.

Given the situation, a statement of prison PTI founder Imran Khan appeared in the media, where he ordered each member of his party to immediately set aside all internal differences and focus solely on the party’s protest movement August 5, “for which no meaningful momentum is being built at the moment”.

Earlier this week, Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, expressed confidence that the public will take the streets on August 5 to launch a mass movement.
