Islamabad:

In a sweeping leadership shaker, Pakistan Tehreek-In-Insaf (PTI) was awarded a new battle on Friday when opposition leaders in both the National Assembly and the Senate-Omar Ayub Khan and Shibli Faraz-De-Notified after their disqualification at the Pakistan Election Commission (ECP).

The double removal that is rooted in conviction tied to the riots on May 9 comes as the party’s leader bench continues to grow thinner and internal calibrations fetch pace, with senior stalwart sher Afzal Marwat tilted for a potential return.

The National Assembly Secretariat confirmed in a review dated 7 August Ayub’s removal.

“As a result of the disability and de-notification of the opposition’s leader of the opposition Omar Ayub Khan from being a member of the National Assembly (NA-18 Haripur) under Article 63 of August 5, 2025,” read the office of the opposition leader in the National Assembly.

Similarly, the Senate Secretariat issued a parallel notification of: “As a result of disqualification and de-notification of the opposition leader in the Senate Syed Shibli Faraz is from being a member of the Senate under Article 63 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic Pakistan office for the head of the opposition in the Senate has been vacant with effect from August 5”. “

The latest challenge adds a growing list of setbacks for PTI, which recently saw three major leadership roles disappear in a fall. In addition to Omar Ayub’s exit, Zartaj Yellow was relieved of her duties as parliamentary leader, while Ahmad Chatha lost his attitude as a deputy parliamentary leader. The party has also been denied access to the opposition leader’s chamber.

The fall continues as Omar Ayub has been removed from both Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and Finance Committee. Seven other disqualified MNAs were deprived of their membership in different standing committees, corresponding to a total loss of 15 committee columns for PTI, including key presidencies.

Among those injuries, SaHibzada Hamid Raza was removed as chairman of the Standing Committee on Human Rights, while Zartaj Yellow lost his seat on the same forum. Rai Hassan Nawaz was also deprived of his role as chairman of the Railway Committee.

Another PTI -Seat Winger

Meanwhile, PTI’s problems continued to mount as Sheikh Waqas Acram’s seat may be on the way to turbulence.

Akram seems to be under control after a proposal from PML-N Nosheen Iftikhar, who seeks to declare his seat free. A decision is expected on August 11th.

According to sources, the movement achieved traction after the NA speaker raised concerns about Akram’s long -term absence.
